This Paris Born, NYC-Based makeup artist spends her life accentuating the natural beauty of others. Today, she’s taking us through how you can bring out your own natural beauty, in this French girl inspired, minimalist makeup routine. On the French being more naturally geared to a Less is More lifestyle

I believe french women function with a “go to” attitude. A “go to” make up and a “go to hair style”, and it also applies to food and vintage shopping. This attitude results in consuming less (trends) and in a more sustainable way (seasonal products/vintage products).

How can us NYC dwellers be more "french" in this way?

Quality over quantity. Know what is good and stick to it.

On balancing the French minimalism with the extravagant NY attitude

[I balance it] mainly by mixing high end and low end and breaking “classic” French codes. I would use more colors/shine for make up and mix a pencil skirt with a vintage tee. NYC make me feel more free with the way I dress I dare to wear like mini skirt thing I never really did in Paris. I always loved mixing with high and low. I would wear easily a mini skirt with a vintage over size T-shirt for example.

On sustainability in the beauty industry

I am learning more about it every day but I think it is our responsibility to start with what we buy. I believe shoppers are much more cautious about what type of product they purchase.

On her favorite all natural beauty products

On what she splurges on

My skin has always been my priority as a first step to my make up routine so I tend to splurge on skincare. If the skin is wrong the make up will just look wrong.

On what she needs to cut back on

I am embarrassed to say it but it is smoking. Talking about French Women ;-). It is my priority and my main goal right now.I

On how she lives a sustainable life

First thing I ALWAYS recycle. No excuses. I was raised vegetarian and strongly believe cutting off meat is becoming an obvious choice. At work, I try as much as I can to avoid face wipes; they are bad for the face but also the environment. I have replaced plastic Q tips by wooden ones. I do use a lot of Q tips! I try to be more responsible in my daily life and it starts with small actions. It is almost impossible to be perfect and I still make mistakes but I educate myself more and more.
