We’ve featured Emmy Rappe before, chronicling her idyllic time quarantining in Sweden. Luckily, we got to catch up with her again. Similar to us, Rappe has been spending a lot of time running outdoors, giving her solitary time in nature to clear her head and give her some space from the craziness going on in the world today. Here is how Emmy runs.

What's your favorite thing about going for a Run?

How strong I feel afterwords!

What's going on in your mind when you go for a run?

For me running always provided a sense of freedom.

I actually started running when I was very young. On the way home after days of lots of driving, I would ask my Mom to stop 3 km from home because I wanted to run the last bit.

Running has become a way to meditate, and at times, to escape the world. In times like these, running has been a good way to remain zen.

Where are a few of your favorite places to go for a run?

I always pack a pair of running shoes when I travel for jobs. It’s a great way to see and quickly get a feel for a new city.

For me it’s always felt easier to run in nature - I grew up on a farm! But I’ve fallen in love with city runs as well, there's so much action along the way, But when I run in the city I have to be careful of the cars. After 6 years in NYC I am still bad with traffic. I almost got hit by a car in Paris once. I am very clumsy!

what is your favorite thing to do post-run?

After a run during the summertime I go for a bath in the river or ocean. Refill with a lot of water. I am usually very hungry coming back from a run, so I like to eat a big meal after.

( If it's an evening run I like to pour myself a glass of my favorite red wine (Morgon Cote du Py Jean Foillard) and eat something delicious).
